Partial Hospitalization Program

Brentwood Hospital provides a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for children who may be struggling with mental health challenges but do not require inpatient hospitalization to treat their symptoms.

Adolescent Inpatient Treatment

Outpatient Treatment for Children

Brentwood Hospital offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for children ages 4 to 12 who may have less severe distress symptoms, but are still exhibiting emotional, and/or behavioral problems including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, self-destructive behaviors, severe anger issues, impulsivity or difficulty functioning at home or school. PHP is a highly-structured program that provides treatment administered under the supervision of an attending psychiatrist during the day but allows children to return home in the evening. Our clinically-based, comprehensive program includes discharge planning and connecting patients with community services following treatment. Patients admitted to the PHP must not be considered at risk of harming themselves or others.

Program features include:

  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Physical examination
  • Family, group and individual therapy
  • Health and nutrition education
  • Activity and recreational therapy
  • Medication management
  • Substance abuse treatment, as necessary.
  • Educational support
  • Individualized discharge and aftercare planning
